Join a professional courier network built around reliability, consistency, and high-quality work.
Our focus is on building long-term relationships with reliable drivers — not chasing volume through anonymous job pools.
That means consistent work, fair rates, and a professional environment where the people moving the consignments are treated as the experienced operators they are.
We move time-critical consignments for medical, AV, fashion, film, construction and corporate clients across London and beyond.
The standard is high — and the couriers we work with are the reason we hold it.
Working with Xtra Mile is built around five things we believe every professional courier deserves.
Simple, transparent, and built around how professional couriers actually want to operate.
Real requirements for real work. Above everything else, we look for the right attitude — but the kit and cover need to be in place too.
Skills can be developed, routes can be learned, kit can be bought. The right attitude — taking pride in the work, looking after the client, owning the consignment from collection to signature — is what actually separates the couriers we keep working with from the ones we don't.
Some of our work goes into hospitals, some onto film sets, some onto live construction sites. You need the kit to walk into any of them safely and professionally.
We recruit for two distinct sides of the business. Tell us which one fits — or whether you're open to both.
Standard and direct same-day work across London and the home counties — corporate, AV, fashion, film, construction, legal. A wide mix of jobs, varied days, and the broadest pool of work in the business.
Specimen and pharmaceutical transport between hospitals, labs, clinics and patients. Higher standards, stricter SOPs, dedicated training — and a guaranteed pipeline of medical work for the right couriers.
We don't operate like a typical gig platform. Our couriers are an extension of our service — trusted to deliver time-critical consignments with care, precision, and accountability.
When a hospital, a film set, or a courtroom is waiting for what you're carrying, the relationship between us and the driver matters. That's why we work with a vetted fleet, pay properly, and treat the people on the road as the operators that hold the whole service together.
"I've done your job. We all have."
I started as a foot messenger in central London. From there I went on the bikes, into the control room as a telephonist, then up to running the desk as a controller. In the early '90s I founded Premier Despatch and ran it for nineteen years before building Xtra Mile.
Every person in our operations team has come up the same way. When you call us about a tricky drop, a re-route, a difficult client or a long day — you're talking to people who have actually been in your seat. That changes the relationship. It's why we don't talk down to the fleet, why we listen when you tell us something on the ground doesn't add up, and why our couriers tend to stay with us.
